Market Dynamics was founded in 2003 by John Gilsenan and Fiona Macrae to provide high quality market research and telemarketing services to clients across Ireland and the UK. Prior to moving to Ireland in March 2003, John and Fiona amassed over 35 years experience between them in the international market research industry.

John has worked in the international market research industry since 1989. At AGB UK (now part of Taylor Nelson Sofres), the largest market research company in Europe, he focused on industrial market research before joining IDC, the global ICT consultancy, in 1992. At IDC John headed the IDC UK Consulting team before becoming Research Manager of IDC’s European Services research group.
In 1998 John moved to Frost and Sullivan where he developed a consulting practice focusing on research into the IT and telecommunications industries. He set up the Internet Research Group in 2000 and went on to become head of ICT Research for the European region.
In early 2002, John formed his own research organisation in the UK and a year later returned to Ireland. Market Dynamics was founded in early 2003 to provide market research services and consultancy to clients in Ireland and the UK. He continues to act as a consultant for both Frost & Sullivan and IDC.
John has been quoted in many local and major international publications including the Financial Times, Irish Times, Sunday Tribune, Irish Examiner and Irish Independent. He is a regular speaker and commentator on the Irish ICT marketplace.
John has a BA honours degree from Thames Valley University.
Fiona has worked in the international market research industry since joining Romtec PLC (now Harris International) in 1990 as a market analyst.
In 1993 Fiona moved to IDC where she became Programme Manager for European PC research. In her role as lead PC analyst Fiona was often quoted in both the IT and business press including the Wall Street Journal Europe and Financial Times.
In 1997 Fiona joined the account management team at IDC. In 1999, following highly successful business development and major account management assignments in the UK, Fiona was appointed to the role of Global Account Director and took on the management of one of IDC’s European major account teams.
In 2003 Fiona moved to Ireland and co-founded Market Dynamics to provide research and consultancy services in Ireland and the UK and is a regular speaker at events across the South East presenting findings from Market Dynamics South East Business Confidence Studies
Fiona also acts as a sales and marketing trainer, advisor and mentor to a number of organisations in Ireland.
Fiona has a BA honours degree from Liverpool University.
Market Dynamics has recruited a team of experienced and highly-skilled telephone and face to face interviewers and telemarketers. All work undertaken is rigorously checked and monitored with standardised check and feedback systems.
